Actress Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, the captain of the Indian cricket team, are the proud parents of a baby girl. The couple, who were married in 2017, revealed that they were expecting their first child in August 2020.
Kohli took to Instagram on Monday evening to inform his fans that Sharma had delivered the baby this afternoon.
Kohli, who returned home from Australia last month for the birth of his child, wrote, "We thank you all for your love, prayers and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time."
The actress and the cricketer were married in a private ceremony in Italy on 11 December 2017.
Sharma's last film on the big screen was Aanand L Rai's Zero (2018) and she produced the web-series Paatal Lok and the film Bulbbul (2020) under her banner Clean Slate Filmz last year.
