Actor Dhanush’s upcoming Tamil action-thriller Jagame Thandhiram (2021), directed by Karthik Subbaraj, is expected to hit the screens on 12 February, as per a report in the Times of India newspaper.
The film was originally supposed to be released in cinemas on 1 May, 2020, but was postponed due to the pandemic.
The film sees Dhanush play a gangster. Recently, pictures from the sets of the film, which saw Dhanush sporting a handlebar moustache, went viral on social media. It is rumoured that the actor will be seen in this look in a flashback.
The project, which marks the maiden collaboration between Dhanush and Karthik, has been predominantly shot in London, apart from a few other places in the United Kingdom.
The makers of Jagame Thanthiram have been denying rumours about the film skipping theatres and heading directly to an OTT platform.
“Jagam is still healing and not back to normal. Until then, be patient for the theatres to open and don’t believe in rumours, the entire team is waiting to see Dhanush go Rakita Rakita on a big screen soon,” producer Sashikanth tweeted in August last year.
