Veteran filmmaker KS Ravikumar has been roped in to play a major role in the Tamil remake of Andhadhun, which has been titled Andhagan. It is still unclear which character he will be playing.

The makers made the announcement via a poster, which welcomed Ravikumar on board.

To be directed by JJ Fredrick, the remake stars Prashanth while actress Simran has been confirmed to play the role originally essayed by Tabu. She will be reuniting with Prashanth after many years. They had previously worked together in Tamil films such as Jodi (1999), Kannedhirey Thondrinal (1998) and Parthen Rasithen (2000).

Best known for her lead roles in the 1990s and early 2000, Simran has shifted her focus to playing author-backed character roles. She was last seen on the silver screen in Rajinikanth’s Petta (2019) and in the Tamil anthology Paava Kadhaigal (2020), which released on Netflix India on December 18. Her segment was directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and it is centred on a family dealing with the aftermath of an incident involving their daughter.
