Last week, Ranbir Kapoor officially shared that he is starring in the Kabir Singh (2019) director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s next as the main lead and will be starting shoot later this year.
Now, the makers T-Series, Cine1 Studios and Bhadrakali Pictures have revealed more information about the film, titled Animal (2021), through a video shared just as the new year was ushered in at 12:01 am. The film is unusually titled Animal and it will also star Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Parineeti Chopra. It’s a crime drama that will go on floors in mid 2021.
The video explores the troubled relationship between Ranbir Kapoor's character and his father. The actor is heard indirectly taunting his dad for not being a loving father through the example of reincarnation. But more than the dialogue, it's the awe-inspiring, uplifting background score, with a barrage of gunfire at the end, that makes one look forward eagerly for the film and what it might contain.
Interestingly, Ranbir has played a character having a troubled relationship with his father earlier in films like Wake Up Sid (2009), Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013) and Tamasha (2015).
This is the first time that Ranbir Kapoor will be working with Anil Kapoor, Deol and Chopra.
Animal will be Vanga’s next after the surprise blockbuster Kabir Singh, which starred Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani. The film was the Hindi remake of his own Telugu hit Arjun Reddy (2017).
