Birsa Dasgupta's upcoming film Psycho has death as its central theme


The psychological thriller will attempt to shine a light on the mindset of a murderer.

Birsa Dasgupta will soon start shooting for his upcoming film Psycho, starring Anirban Bhattacharya. Also starring Anirban Chakrabarti, Chandreyee Ghosh, Debesh Chattopadhyay, Payel De and Soumya Sengupta.

The first look poster of the film features a verse from the Bible: The last enemy to be destroyed is death.

The psychological thriller will attempt to shine a light on the mindset of a murderer. In the film, police officers get murdered one by one in Kolkata. In order to nab the murderer, the police department requires a psychologist.

According to a statement to the Bengali daily Anandabazar Patrika, Dasgupta said death works as the central theme of the film. “I want this film to be as realistic as possible. Many eminent stage actors will also have significant roles in the film,” added Dasgupta.

The shooting of the film is slated to begin on 10 February, but it might be postponed. The director is not preoccupied on when the film be will released as he doesn’t want to rush the filmmaking process.

The film was written by both Dasgupta and Saket Bandopadhyay and will be shot by Subhankar Bhar.
