Vikram, Mahesh Bhatt reunite as director-writer duo after 18 years for Cold

Vikram Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatt have reunited as a director-writer duo after 18 years for the horror movie Cold. The film stars Akshay Oberoi and newcomer Anisha Pahuja. Mahesh has written the film along with Suhrita Sengupta. 

The Bhatts had last joined hands for Inteha (2003), which starred Ashmit Patel, Vidya Malvade and Nauheed Cyrusi. 

Speaking about the film, Vikram said in a statement that Cold would provide a healing touch to viewers, who have gone through a lot due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “The world has gone through a harrowing time in the past one year and there is a need for a collective catharsis and Cold is going to provide the viewers with that,” he said. 

He added, “Intelligence has always been viewed as the ability to think and learn but in this post-pandemic world we need to view it as our ability to rethink and unlearn. And what could be a better way to do it than collaborate with the master storyteller himself [Mahesh Bhatt]?”

The filmmaker also said he would reinvent the horror genre. "I promise the scariest ride in our cinema till date,” he said. 

Cold recently went on floors in Mumbai.
