The trailer of Netflix India’s upcoming Telugu anthology film Pitta Kathalu, which comprises four segments directed by Nag Ashwin, Nandini Reddy, Sankalp Reddy and Tharun Bhascker, was unveiled on Friday. Going by the visuals, the movie promises distinct stories of four extraordinary women and their journeys.
The trailer establishes the fact that the stories will deal with some bold themes as well as love, desire, betrayal, honour and freedom.
It’s evident from the trailer is that the women in this story challenge societal norms and break away from what is essentially a man’s world.
The lead cast includes Amala Paul, Ashwin Kakumanu, Eesha Rebba, Jagapathi Babu, Lakshmi Manchu, Saanve Megghana, Sanjith Hegde and Shruti Haasan.
The project has been produced by RSVP Movies and Flying Unicorn Entertainment.
Pitta Kathalu, which will be the first anthology project to come out of the Telugu industry, is believed to be based on Netflix’s Lust Stories, which starred Kiara Advani, Radhika Apte, and Manisha Koirala. The anthology film, which is centred on the theme of lust, is comprised of four segments directed by Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar and Dibakar Banerjee.
