Yami Gautam and Abhishek Bachchan to star in the social drama Dasvi

Yami Gautam is all set to star with Abhishek Bachchan in a film titled Dasvi, in which she will be playing a police officer for the first time.
The film is a social drama and shooting is set to begin in the middle of this month in Agra.
The actress shared the news in a conversation with the Hindustan Times newspaper.
“I am looking forward to playing a cop in this one, which is special; also because, growing up, Dr Kiran Bedi [the first woman Indian Police Service officer and now lieutenant governor of the Union territory of Pondicherry] has been an inspiration. It will be fun to learn Haryanvi for this one,” Yami Gautam said.
The actress said she prefers to wait for the right project rather than taking on just about anything that is offered to her.
“I waited for these opportunities as I focused on strong subjects," she told the paper. "The idea was to select films and be a part of scripts which also help me portray and become a versatile actor, which I have always believed in. I want to be who I am as a person, but on screen I want to surprise myself and the audience and see what more I can explore. That’s what makes it fun.”
Some reports have suggested that Nimrat Kaur will also be a part of Dasvi, but so far there has been no official confirmation of this.
Yami’s next release would be Pawan Kripalani’s Bhoot Police (2021) which is a multi-starrer film that also features Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Jaaved Jaaferi.
