The ongoing farmers’ protests have spilt over to various spheres, including music and cinema. Now, Friday Russh Motion Pictures has released a short Punjabi film titled Jung Jitange Zaroor (We will win the war), the conflict in question being the standoff between the farmers and the Central Government in which both sides have dug in their heels, refusing to back down.

The film revolves around a family in Punjab where the father has joined the protests and the son, who is a soldier, is guarding the nation’s borders. With no one left to take care of the farms, it is up to the mother to till the land and take care of the crops. The son finds himself in a dilemma as he yearns to join his father but the mother counsels him to continue his duty towards the nation.

The film takes up the accusations of farmers being Khalistanis and highlights the numerous hardships being faced both by the protesting farmers as well as the soldiers fighting at the border. In doing so, it refers to the lessons by the Sikh Gurus who did not flinch from fighting for a just cause while fulfilling their duties towards the less fortunate.

Written and directed by Kudrat Bajaj, the film has been produced by Rrupaali and Deepak Gupta. The cast includes Malkeet Rauni, Satwant Kaur, Kudrat Bajaj, Rrupaali Gupta, Tanvir Singh, Satvir Singh. Jung Jitange Zaroor was released on YouTube on 2 February 2021.
