The recently-released song ‘Ashleel’ from the movie Tuesdays & Fridays is rife with issues. The one thing that sticks out like a sore thumb is Neha Kakkar’s vocals.
While Kakkar is a good singer who has proved her mettle over the years, the issue lies in the over-use of auto-tune, which renders the song almost instantly unlistenable. Here, Nakash Aziz’s supporting part, which is just average, feels like a breath of fresh air.
The other major disappointment here is Jhataleka Malhotra’s dancing. Her moves appear weak and she is visibly uncomfortable at various places. Even in this case, the mediocre supporting part by Anmol Thakeria Dhillon appears classy!
Tony Kakkar’s lyrics fail to dazzle while his music is just about tolerable.
It is obvious that the makers wanted to create a youth anthem with this track since the movie is meant for today’s urban youth. Only if they had put in more work to make it palatable.
Malhotra, Dhillon and the film’s writer and director Taranveer Singh will be launched in Tuesdays & Fridays, which will be released in theatres on 19 February.
Check out the song and let us know if you are keen on watching the film.
