Amid reports that Tamil film Jagame Thandhiram will be premiered directly on Netflix, actor Dhanush took to Twitter to express his wish that the movie is released in theatres.
“I am hoping for the theatrical release of Jagame Thandhiram like the theatre owners, exhibitors, distributors, cinema lovers and most of all my fans. Fingers crossed (sic),” Dhanush wrote on Tuesday.

Rumours have also emerged that the actor had a falling out with the producer over the film’s release.
Jagame Thandhiram marks the maiden collaboration between Dhanush and Karthik Subbaraj. It’s tipped to be an action-drama with gangster elements. A predominant portion of the film was shot in London in 2019.
Recently, reports claimed that the film was to be released on Valentine’s Day. However, the makers have not issued clarifications.
Not long ago, the film’s producer Sashikanth had said the makers had no plans to release the film on an OTT platform.
“Jagam is still healing and not back to normal. Until then, be patient for the theatres to open and don’t believe in rumours, the entire team is waiting to see Dhanush go Rakita Rakita on a big screen soon,” Sashikanth tweeted last year.
