Netflix to stream Neena Gupta and Arjun Kapoor's Sardar Ka Grandson

Kaashvie Nair’s cross-border love story starring Arjun Kapoor, Neena Gupta and Rakul Preet Singh finally has a title. The film is called Sardar Ka Grandson and it is all set to be streamed on Netflix this summer.

The film sees Gupta play a woman called Sardar who is the fun-loving matriarch of a large family in Punjab. Kapoor plays her US-returned grandson who will go to any length to fulfil his grandmother’s last wish.

Speaking about the film and her character, Gupta said in a statement, “This is a heart-warming story filled with lots of emotions and laughter. It’s the perfect family watch as you embark on a journey with my grandson as he fights all odds to fulfil my last wish. This is the first time I am playing a character like this one and I am excited to see how the audience reacts to it!” 

Sardar Ka Grandson will see Aditi Rao Hydari play the younger version of Gupta's character while John Abraham will play her lover. The film also features Soni Razdan, Kanwaljit Singh, Kumud Mishra and Divya Seth. 

Working with Gupta and the other senior artistes was quite an experience for Kapoor. “Working alongside such a talented ensemble cast was an enriching experience," the actor said. "We are hoping that the story will resonate with people across the globe with the raw and real emotions that it shows through a loving grandmother-grandson relationship.”
