From the first shot to the stylish montages in between, the teaser of the John Abraham-Emraan Hashmi gangster film Mumbai Saga has Sanjay Gupta written all over it.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series, Krishan Kumar, Sangeeta Ahir and Anuradha Gupta, Mumbai Saga will be released in theatres on 19 March.

The film, which was shot amid the lockdown, revolves around a favourite topic of Gupta: the Mumbai mafia. The teaser depicts the heavyweight gangster, Amartya Rao (Abraham) who ''rises from the streets'' to rule the city. However, he faces a formidable foe in Hashmi's honest encounter cop.

The teaser tells a familiar story that Gupta has pursued in Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007) and Shootout at Wadala (2013). Abraham seems to have reverted to his character Manya Surve from the 2013 outing, while Hashmi, for a change, has the opportunity to play the good guy.

The film also features Ronit Roy, Prateik Babbar, Mahesh Manjrekar, Suneil Shetty and Kajal Aggarwal.
