Tushar Jalota's upcoming social drama, Dasvi (2022), went on the floor today. Jalota's directorial debut features Abhishek Bachchan, Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur in the lead roles.
Backed by Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan, the project is produced by Vijan's Maddock Films in association with Bake My Cake Films.
The first look released by the makers features Abhishek Bachchan as his character, Ganga Ram Chaudhary, standing against a measurement scale. The picture resembles one shot just before a convict is put in prison, but the scale here features educational subjects in which the character has barely passed.

Yami Gautam plays a police officer in the film. The makers also revealed the first look of her character, Jyoti Deswal. The actress is posing against a similar background as Bachchan's Chaudhary.

With a gangster and a cop in place, a politician could not be far behind. That role falls to Nimrat Kaur as she plays Bimla Devi, the immaculate politician. With her victory symbol and stylish aviator sunglasses, the actress looks the part of the small-town politician looking to make the most of the limelight.

This is the first time Bachchan, Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur are working together. Bachchan was seen recently in Anurag Basu's Ludo (2020), and has The Big Bull (2021) and Bob Biswas (2021) lined up for release this year.
Yami Gautam has also signed on for Bhoot Police alongside Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez. This is Nimrat Kaur's first major Hindi film project. She recently reprised her role on the most recent season of the international series, Homeland.
Dasvi marks the directorial debut of Tushar Jalota and is written by Ritesh Shah. Jalota was an assistant director on Judgementall Hai Kya (2019).
