Gashmeer Mahajani to play Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Sarsenapati Hambirrao

The makers of the historical epic Sarsenapati Hambirrao have revealed that Gashmeer Mahajani will play Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the film.

The actor took to social media to share his first look from the film. With his chiselled figure, long beard and hair, Mahajani is a perfect choice for this role. The makers will soon announce the rest of the characters and the actors playing them. 

Hambirrao Mohite was a chief military commander of Chhatrapati Shivaji's army and later served under Chhatrapati Sambhaji. His daughter Tarabai was married to Shivaji Maharaj's son Rajaram. 

The film has been written by Pravin Tarde who will direct the historical epic and play the titular role. The film is being produced by Sandeep Mohite Patil, Dharmendra Bora and Saujanya Nikam.
