Om Raut’s awaited magnum opus Adipurush went on the floors on Tuesday.
Actor Prabhas took to Instagram to share a poster of the movie along with the word ‘aarambh’ (begins) written on it, which means the shoot has finally commenced.
The motion capture process for the film had begun on 21 January. The technology enables the actions of human actors to be recorded and allows animators to use this information to bring to life digital character models.
Adipurush is an adaption of the Indian epic Ramayana. While Prabhas is essaying the role of Lord Ram, Saif Ali Khan will be playing Ravana. The makers are yet to finalize the female lead.
This is Om Raut's second Hindi film after Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (2020) starring Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan.
Adipurush will be shot in Hindi and Telugu and will be released in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. It will hit the screens on August 11, 2022.
