Shahid Kapoor begins work on digital debut with Raj and DK for Amazon Prime series

Shahid Kapoor will star in Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK's upcoming comic thriller series for Amazon Prime. The untitled show will be co-written by Sita R Menon, Husain Dalal and Suman Kumar.

The series is also likely to feature Raashi Khanna. However, this has not yet been confirmed by the production house or the OTT platform. 

The actor said in the statement, "My favourite Indian show on Amazon Prime Video is The Family Man. I couldn’t think of anyone better for my digital debut than them. I loved the story idea when I first heard it and since then it has been an exciting ride so far! Can’t wait to share this series with the audience."

Filmmakers Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK said that their objective was to always challenge themselves to do better with every film or series. "This is our favourite script and has truly been a labour of love. We found a perfect match in Shahid! He was always our first choice for this series," they said.

The filmmakers are yet to announce the release of the second season of their popular Amazon Prime series, The Family Man. Set to be released on 12 February, the series has been postponed to summer. 

Kapoor will next be seen in the remake of the Telugu hit Jersey, which is set to hit the screens on 5 November.
