SonyLIV’s Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, produced by Applause Entertainment, has another feather in its cap. The web-series is the only Indian show to be nominated alongside other international productions for the Excellence In Title Design at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival in Texas, United States.
Scam 1992 is one of 15 titles, including Queen’s Gambit, Birds Of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn, and The 100, which have been singled out. The title track has been designed by Jishnu Chatterjee and scored by Achint Thakkar.
The drama, which highlights the rise and fall of controversial stockbroker Harshad Mehta (Pratik Gandhi), is set in Bombay in the 1990s and follows financial journalist Sucheta Dalal (Shreya Dhanwantary) as she tries to expose the largest scam in Indian securities on 23 April 1992.
Directed by Hansal Mehta, Scam 1992 features Hemant Kher, Chirag Vohra, Anjali Barot, Brinda Trivedi, Jay Upadhyay, Sharib Hashmi, Satish Kaushik, Ananth Mahadevan and Rajat Kapoor.
The SXSW will be held online from 16 to 20 March.
