The trailer of Rabi Kinagi’s upcoming film Miss Call gives the impression that the film is yet another romantic film made for the masses. However, the devil lies in the details. The first half of the trailer, featuring lead artistes Soham Chakraborty and Rittika Sen, focuses on the budding friendship between the protagonists.
As the trailer reaches the halfway point and their friendship intensifies, a twist comes up, bringing about their separation and landing Chakraborty in troubled waters. Generally, films that follow such patterns do not have endings that are open to interpretation. In this case, the trailer itself hints at a happy ending for Chakraborty's character, Krishno, after he duly undergoes his share of suffering.
Though the trailer doesn’t show how Sen's character finds Krishno’s contact details, she doesn’t give up on her attempts at trying to reach him until he calls her back. Both of them develop a bond without ever meeting each other. The first blow hits Krishno when he suddenly cannot reach Sen and then he is shocked to be summoned at the police station after the young woman goes missing.
While looking at the phone records, everyone, including Sen’s family members, accuses Krishno of having something to do with Sen’s disappearance. A clueless Krishno then embarks on a risky quest to trace his love interest.
However, the narrative doesn’t seem all that simple either. Glimpses of Supriya Dutta’s character in the trailer suggest some twists while Sen’s countenance seems curiously mysterious.
Miss Call is slated to be released on 26 February.
