Nitin Kakkar’s Jawaani Jaaneman (2020) hit the theatres on 31 January 2020. Starring Saif Ali Khan, Alaya F and Tabu, the film — a bold drama about a family — received rave reviews.
On the first anniversary of the film, which was yesterday, its producer, Deepshikha Deshmukh, got nostalgic and recounted the journey making it.
She shared a video about the film on Instagram and wrote, “So much to smile about, to relive, to be grateful for as I celebrate one year of the unforgettable Jawaani Jaaneman with a gifted cast, a tirelessly wonderful crew, and our very own, magical Alaya F and Saif !!!”
The film sees Khan play the role of an ageing womaniser who only believes in enjoying life. A young girl played by Alaya enters his life and reveals that she is his illegitimate daughter much to his shock. But soon it’s the girl’s chance to get shocked when she discovers she is pregnant.
After Jawaani Jaaneman, Deshmukh produced the recently-released Coolie No 1 (2020), under her banner Pooja Entertainment. She now has the Akshay Kumar-starrer Bell Bottom (2021) and Tiger Shroff-starrer Ganapath (2022) lined up for release this year.
