Rakul Preet Singh cast opposite Ayushmann Khurrana in Doctor G

Rakul Preet Singh has been cast in the romantic comedy Doctor G opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. This will be the actress's first collaboration with the acclaimed actor.

The actress confirmed the news on social media on Monday. 

The actress also hinted that her character will be named Dr Fatima, a medical student, while Khurrana is likely to play her senior, Dr Uday, in the film. In a statement to the Times of India newspaper, Singh said, "I'm super excited to be a part of Doctor G. There are many firsts in this film for me, starting with my co-star Ayushmann. I am thankful to Junglee Pictures and director Anubhuti Kashyap for bringing us together. "

The film will be set on a medical campus, and build around the experiences of people there. The film has been written by Sumit Saxena, Vishal Wagh and Saurabh Bharat.

Kashyap had previously directed the Amazon Prime series Afsos (2020).
