SS Rajamouli’s lavish period film RRR (2022) is a tale of two men Komaram Bheem (Jr NTR) and Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan). These real-life revolutionaries laid down their lives in the fight for India’s freedom.
This ambitious fictional feature documents ‘Bheem’ and ‘Ram’ meeting up, becoming fast friends and teaming up to take on the British and their continuing atrocities against the people of India.
The trailer finally gives us a hint of what’s to come and it looks to be an action-filled visual treat that raises expectations.
There are slow-motion entrances for both leads, as Bheem is the protector of the Gond tribe while Ram is a police officer who has to uphold the law. Their friendship takes a hit when Ram has to arrest Bheem for crimes committed against the British government. It doesn’t take Ram long to realize which side he actually belongs to.
When the duo finally unites to fight together, it’s both grand and heroic. The trailer also gives us glimpses of the rest of the cast, from Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt to Shriya Saran, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody and Ray Stevenson, who each contribute in the story of Bheem and Ram.
The three-minute video also shows the impressive detailing that has gone into the world of RRR, with costumes, sets and visual effects, something that Rajamouli achieved as well for his Baahubali films.
The period film is due to be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam on 7 January 2022 in theatres worldwide. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to see the film.
