Shava Ni Girdhari Lal song ‘Gori Diyan Jhanjran’: Neeru Bajwa takes centre stage in this melodious number

Actor-singer Gippy Grewal’s Punjabi-language film Shava Ni Girdhari Lal (2021), directed and co-written by Grewal, sees him play an innocent romantic named Girdhari Lal.

The latest song from the film, ‘Gori Diyan Jhanjran’, with music by Jatinder Shah and lyrics by Kumaar, sees the actor romancing Neeru Bajwa who is dancing to the melodious number sung by Sunidhi Chauhan.

With elaborate sets of the village, the song features a large number of dancers dancing alongside Bajwa and is reminiscent of the typical 'Bollywood' numbers of yore, both in terms of the musical score and its choreography. This is a bit unusual because Punjabi film songs usually stick to folk tunes and rustic beats.

With Baljit Singh Deo handling the camera, the song looks lavish and colourful. It also features an adorned set with all the artistes wearing beautiful costumes.

Girdhari Lal is a man looking for the best match for himself, courting a number of women in the process. Bajwa plays one of his love interests in the film.
