Written and directed by first-time filmmaker Sarvesh Mewara, Tejas will see Ranaut play an Indian Air Force fighter pilot. The air force was the first of the country's three defence forces to induct women into combat roles in 2016, and the film takes inspiration from this landmark event.
Tejas will mark the second film about the armed forces by RSVP Movies, after the blockbuster hit Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019).
Tejas was earlier scheduled to be released in April 2021, but the film's shooting got delayed by months on account of the COVID-19 pandemic and the makers could only wrap up the shooting by 30 October this year.
