After doing fair business on the opening weekend, filmmaker Milan Luthria’s Tadap (2021), the launch vehicle for Suniel Shetty’s son Ahan, made an average collection of Rs2.15 crore nett on its first Monday, according to trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com.
The drop on the first Monday as compared to the opening day is 45%. According to the website, the film saw the lowest drop on Monday in Gujarat, at 35%.
Also starring Tara Sutaria, Tadap had opened with Rs4 crore nett on Friday and repeated the performance on Saturday. The film then showed a slight rise in collections on Sunday with Rs5 crore.
So far, Tadap’s total box-office collection stands at Rs15.15 crore. Considering that the film doesn’t have a single big name as a pull factor, the numbers are not bad.
According to trade sources, Tadap, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, was made at a cost of around Rs25 crore. If the collections remain steady the rest of this week, it might get close to that number.
Meanwhile, the Aayush Sharma- and Salman Khan-starrer Antim: The Final Truth (2021) saw a further drop in collections on its second Monday, making just Rs85 lakh nett. The Mahesh Manjrekar film has so far generated almost Rs34 crore from the domestic ticket counters.
