Rani Mukerji’s film Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway (2022) is all set to be released in theatres next summer on 20 May. The news was announced by Emmay Entertainment, the film’s producers.
The shooting of the film was wrapped up on 18 October. On her experience, Mukerji had said in a statement, “Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway is an inspirational story about a mother fighting a country for her children and I went through a roller coaster of emotions shooting [for] this film. I had an amazing time shooting with my producers Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, Nikkhil Advani, Zee Studios and director Ashima Chibber and I’m hoping that this film will resonate with everyone who wants to see an entertainer with a brilliant concept at its fore.”
Interestingly, Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway will be Mukerji’s first film in 10 years that is not produced by Yash Raj Films, the banner owned by her filmmaker husband Aditya Chopra. The last time she did a film outside the banner was Aiyyaa (2012). In between, she has appeared in one of the four anthologies in Bombay Talkies (2013) and did a special appearance in Aanand L Rai’s Zero (2018), which starred Shah Rukh Khan.
Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway is Ashima Chibber’s second film as director after Mere Dad Ki Maruti (2013), which was produced by Y-Films, the youth division of Yash Raj Films.
