Actor Vinay Pathak is set to play the lead in producer-turned-director Shiladitya Bora's first directorial venture Bhagwan Bharose (2022).
Bora, who has been working in the Hindi film industry for close to 20 years, has produced acclaimed films like Masaan (2015) and Newton (2017) during his stint at Drishyam Films, before branching out as an indie filmmaker and bankrolling Sir (2020).
Introducing two talented youngsters Satendra Soni and Sparsh Suman, the film has an ensemble cast led by Pathak, Masumeh Makhija, Manu Rishi Chadha, Shrikant Verma, Sawan Tank and Krishna Singh Bisht.
Speaking of his role in Bora's film, Pathak said, "Bhagwan Bharose is a sweet and special story and I am fortunate to be a part of Shiladitya's first directorial venture. May this be the start of his long and illustrious cinema journey. I can’t wait for the film to get completed and hit the screens."
The tender, coming-of-age drama has been written by Sudhakar Nilmani and Mohit Chauhan. Shooting for Bhagwan Bharose was completed earlier this year in Deogargh in Jharkhand and the film is slated for a winter 2022 release.
