Milan Luthria's remake of the Telugu hit RX 100 (2018) has had an average opening at the domestic box office. Featuring newcomer Ahan Shetty and Tara Sutaria, Tadap (2021) collected Rs4 crore nett on Friday.

This opening-day collection stands right behind Salman Khan's Antim: The Final Truth (2021), which had opened with Rs4.75 crore the previous Friday.

According to trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com, Tadap's opening numbers have come in despite the film opening with fewer screens than Antim and its eventual performance will depend to a large extent on its growth over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Antim, which did average business in its first week, is seeing the pace slacken in the second. The film saw a drop on its eighth day in theatres with a collection in the region of Rs1.25 crore nett on its second Friday. This takes the film's total collection so far to about Rs29.50 crore. The film is believed to have been made at a budget of Rs40 crore and the makers will be hoping to reach that mark in the coming days.

While the Hindi film has seen a gradual decline, a Marathi film has been gaining ground. Jhimma (2021), which completed 14 days in theatres, took its total collection to Rs5.83 crore nett, according to the film's distributor. The film has seen a gradual increase in number of shows corresponding to the decline in numbers for Antim and Satyameva Jayate 2 (2021).

The Akshay Kumar-starrer Sooryavanshi (2021) continued into its fifth week with a collection of Rs35 lakh nett on Friday. According to BoxOfficeIndia, com, the film's total collection at the domestic box office has reached Rs191.50 crore nett. The film has already been released on Netflix, so the future collections are likely to be slim.
