Prithviraj Sukumaran's second film as a director, Bro Daddy (2022), is a light-hearted comedy about family. The film stars Mohanlal and himself as a father and son, John Kattadi and Eesho John Kattadi, respectively. Prithviraj directed the veteran before in his directorial debut Lucifer (2019).
The teaser shows the dapper father-son pair having a good time together. The family, which also includes Meena as Annamma, faces a slight hurdle when they encounter Kurian Malieakal (Lalu Alex), Annamma’s old college admirer. From the teaser, it looks like Eesho wants to marry Anna (Kalyani Priyadarshan), Kurian’s daughter, and he refuses as he was turned down for John (Mohanlal).
The family's attempts to win Kurian over seems to be the crux of the upcoming feature. The teaser also introduces the film’s other colourful characters played by Kaniha, Jagadish, Soubin Shahir and Unni Mukundan.
Bro Daddy, written by Sreejith N, Bibin Maleikal and Sajeev Pazhoor, was completed in September 2021 in Hyderabad, Telangana. The actor-director has called his second film a "fun family drama" that will make you smile and laugh and want to revisit again.
Bro Daddy will likely be premiered next month on Disney+ Hotstar.
