Pa Ranjith's latest film is Sarpatta Parambarai (2021), which was released on Amazon Prime Video earlier this year. The film, based on the boxing tradition in North Madras, earned rave reviews from critics and fans alike.
Vikram has shot for Mani Ratnam's upcoming magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan Part One. The film, which also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Trisha, Jayam Ravi and Prakash Raj, is based on the eponymous novel by writer Kalki on life during the reign of the Chola kings.
Vikram also has Karthik Subbaraj's Mahaan, alongside son Dhruv Vikram, in the works. He has completed shooting for Gautham Menon's Dhruva Natchathiram. He also has Ajay Gnanamuthu's Cobra lined up for release in 2022.
