Actor Brahmaswaroop Mishra, better known as Brahma Mishra, was found dead yesterday at his rented flat at Yari Road in Versova, Mumbai. He was 36.
Mishra had died a few days ago but the incident only came to light yesterday when neighbours began complaining of a stench emanating from the flat and informed the police.
The cops opened the flat using a duplicate key and found Mishra dead in the washroom. No foul play is suspected and a heart attack is believed to be the cause of death.
Mishra's body was sent for a post-mortem examination at the Cooper hospital. A source close to Mishra confirmed the developments.
Mishra had played supporting roles and made appearances in quite a few popular Hindi films like Hawaizaada (2015), Manjhi: The Mountain Man (2015), Dangal (2016), Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017), Kesari (2019) and Haseen Dillruba (2021). But he was best known for his character Lalit in the Amazon Prime Video web-series Mirzapur, a friend of the protagonist Munna bhaiya (Divyenndu Sharma).
Sharma mourned the demise of his co-actor through a post on Instagram. He shared a candid picture of the two and wrote, “RIP Brahma Mishra. Our Lalit is no more. Let’s pray for him, everyone.”
Excel Entertainment, producers of Mirzapur, also put up a post for Mishra on Instagram: “We are deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Bramhswaroop Mishra. Our condolences are with his family and friends. May he rest in peace.”
