Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui song ‘Maafi’: Ayushmann Khurrana pleads for forgiveness

Priya Saraiya's lyrics are the most striking feature of this number sung by Ayushmann Khurrana.

Ayushmann Khurrana in Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui

The trailer for Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui revealed that the film is an unusual love story of a man (Ayushmann Khurrana) who learns just before his marriage that his partner (Vaani Kapoor) is a transwoman.

The promo showed Khurrana’s character, a gym instructor, feeling cheated on learning the truth and cutting ties with Kapoor's character.

‘Maafi’, the latest song from the film, shows Khurrana regretting his behaviour and seeking forgiveness from the one he loved.

Khurrana has also gone behind the mic for the song and showcased his smooth vocals. But the most striking feature here are Priya Saraiya’s lyrics. The words indicate that the person in question is genuinely and deeply sorry. Sachin-Jigar’s music adds to the overwhelming and emotional effect of the track.

The visuals of Khurrana singing the song in a club are intercut with visuals outside a hospital where Kapoor is seen giving offended reactions to him. It seems one of the characters has been admitted and things are serious.

Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is director Abhishek Kapoor’s next film after Kedarnath (2018). The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on 10 December.
