Actor Arjun Chakraborty has finished shooting for Kaushik Ganguly’s upcoming film Kabaddi Kabaddi, which also stars Ritwick Chakraborty and Sohini Sarkar. The actor shared the update via a photo of himself with Ganguly and cinematographer Gopi Bhagat on Instagram yesterday.

In the film, Arjun will be seen as Chanchal, an aspiring kabaddi player from Bengal's West Birbhum district. Chanchal receives training from schoolmaster and kabaddi coach Niloy (Ritwick) and strives to play for the national team one day.

Kabaddi Kabaddi will also present an unconventional yet refreshing take on love, involving the character of Niloy’s sister Sima (Sarkar), who closely observes Niloy and Chanchal’s journey. The equation between the three will have a metaphorical resonance with the game, set in the backdrop of village politics and the societal order of a marginalized community from the district, according to the makers.

Arjun has recently received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Satyajit Ray's iconic character Apu in Subhrajit Mitra’s recently released Avijatrik.
