It has been more than two years since the first case of COVID-19 was reported in Wuhan, China. Since then we have endured two lockdowns, and the virus continues to rage like a wildfire, laying waste to life, mental health and the economy.

Ankush Chaudhari and Prajakta Mali recount the progress of COVID-19 in the fun, peppy gondhal 'Chyavmyav' from their upcoming romantic comedy Luck Down.

The song, composed by duo Avinash-Vishwajeet, sees Chaudhari and Mali invite China's president Xi Jinping to a gondhal. From the detection of the first coronavirus patient in Wuhan to the time spent at home during the lockdowns, Ravindra Mathadhikari's lyrics give an account of recent happenings that dominated the headlines.

The freestyle choreography perfectly matches the lyrics. The simple tune also works well.  Although the song doesn't require top-notch singing, all three singers, Adarsh Shinde, Vishwajeet Joshi and Maithili Panse, stand out with their unique voices and their tone has an infectious energy that lights up the song.

Directed by Santosh Manjrekar, Luck Down is set to be released on 28 January 2022.
