Pushpa: The Rise (2021) producer Naveen Yerneni revealed on Tuesday that the blockbuster has so far grossed a whopping Rs275 crore.
Speaking at a meeting organized to celebrate the film’s success and thank the cast and crew, he said that he had expected the Allu Arjun-starrer to end its theatrical run with gross earnings of anywhere between Rs325 and Rs350 crore. "Pushpa is the highest-grossing film of 2021 and we are so proud of it," he added.
Directed by Sukumar, the film sees Allu Arjun play a lorry driver who smuggles red sanders. Pushpa, despite opening to mixed responses from audiences and critics, has managed to make an impact.
Originally shot in Telugu, the film was dubbed and released in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.

It was also confirmed at the event that the sequel would be released in even more languages.
The makers have confirmed that the follow-up will be released in cinemas in December 2022. Titled Pushpa: The Rule, it will focus on the face-off between Allu Arjun and Fahadh Faasil, who was introduced as an antagonist towards the end of the first part.
Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film features music by Devi Sri Prasad. Pushpa also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Sunil.
