Mahesh Manjrekar's long-awaited period drama Panghrun has finally got a release date. The film will arrive in theatres on 11 February 2022.

The filmmaker took to Twitter to announce the release date with a new motion poster featuring his daughter, the film's lead actress Gauri Ingawale, standing in a classical dance position. Set in the Konkan region during the British Raj, the film tells a story of a girl who is passionate about dance.

Interestingly, the film will clash with the veteran director's elder daughter Saiee Manjrekar's multilingual film Major, which is also releasing on 11 February.

Panghrun, an ambitious project, was scheduled to be released on 6 April 2020, and makers had left no stone unturned in creating a buzz around the film with their aggressive marketing, but its release had to be postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak. The film has already earned a lot of critical acclaim and awards at various film festivals. Produced by Zee Studios, the film also stars Rohit Phalke, Vidyadhar Joshi and Amol Bawdekar.

Meanwhile, Mahesh Manjrekar's Marathi film Naay Varanbhaat Loncha Kon Naay Koncha is scheduled to be released on 21 January 2022.
