Five years after the release of Double Feluda (2016), Sandip Ray is all set to bring back the titular sleuth to the silver screen in an adaptation of Satyajit Ray’s short story Hatyapuri.

The cast of the film has not been disclosed yet, according to a statement by SVF Entertainment, the film will present the detective as well as his two companions Topse and Jatayu in brand new avatars.

In Ray’s story, Feluda, Topse and Jatayu, who are vacationing in Puri, Odisha, discover a corpse on the beach. Suspecting murder, the inquisitive Feluda gets to work and as his investigation unfolds, the trio is led to DG Sen, a passionate collector of rare manuscripts.

The mystery deepens when one of Sen's manuscripts goes missing and another dead body turns up.

The music of Hatyapuri will be composed by Sandip Ray himself while Soumik Haldar will be in charge of the cinematography.

Hatyapuri will tentatively be released the next year.

Sandip Ray has helmed six Feluda films, which are considered a continuation of his father Satyajit Ray's duology, as well as a standalone reboot featuring the character.
