Vijay Sethupathi, Katrina Kaif sign up for Sriram Raghavan's next thriller, Merry Christmas

Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif have signed up for director Sriram Raghavan's next thriller, Merry Christmas. The film marks the artistes' maiden collaboration with the veteran filmmaker. Produced by Ramesh Taurani's Tips Films and Sanjay Routray's Matchbox Films, the film is expected to be ready for a theatrical release in the winter of 2022. 

The makers announced the collaboration on Christmas, with Katrina and Vijay sharing images of the cast on social media. 

The film went on the floors this week, and will be shot extensively in Mumbai. It is not yet known if the film will release in multiple languages.

Merry Christmas marks Vijay's second collaboration with a well-known Hindi actress after Annabelle Sethupathi (2021) which featured Taapsee Pannu.

Katrina, who recently tied the knot with actor Vicky Kaushal, was last seen in the Rohit Shetty entertainer Sooryavanshi (2021). The actress also has the Salman Khan-starrer Tiger 3 and Phone Bhoot lined up for release in the coming year. 

Vijay, meanwhile, has a web-series with Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, Kamal Haasan's Vikram and Santosh Sivan's drama Mumbaikar in the pipeline.
