Anil Kapoor has joined the cast of the upcoming action film Fighter, which stars Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone. The Siddharth Anand project marks the maiden collaboration between the veteran actor and the Krrish (2006) star.
Hrithik took to Instagram to share the news on Friday when Kapoor turned 65 years old. He shared a picture of himself, Kapoor and the director, which was captioned, “Happiest Birthday to the man who grows younger each year in spirit and health, Anil Kapoor! Best wishes to you, sir. From witnessing your legendary presence on sets as a mere assistant to finally having the opportunity of sharing the screen with you. Super excited for Fighter!”
Hrithik must have encountered Kapoor on the sets of his father Rakesh Roshan’s films Kishen Kanhaiya (1990), Khel (1992) and Karobaar: The Business of Love (2000).
Kapoor reposted Hrithik’s message and replied, “Thank you so much Hrithik Roshan! Happy to be a part of team Fighter and working with you on screen finally! (sic)”
Fighter is Hrithik and Siddharth’s third action outing after Bang Bang (2014) and War (2019).
The film will be released on Republic Day 2023.
