Dhanush signs on for second Tamil-Telugu bilingual titled Sir 


A few months ago, it was announced that the actor would make his Telugu debut in a project helmed by Sekhar Kammula.

Actor Dhanush on Thursday took to Twitter to announce the title of his upcoming Telugu-Tamil project with director Venky Atluri. The film, which is about the rise of a common man, has been titled Sir in Telugu and Vaathi in Tamil. 

Incidentally, a few months ago, it was announced that Dhanush would make his Telugu debut in a project with filmmaker Sekhar Kammula. Sir will be his second consecutive Telugu project.

Dhanush on Thursday tweeted  “My next, a Tamil-Telugu bilingual."

The actor also shared the motion poster. Going by the title and the industry grapevine, it is believed that Dhanush plays a college professor in the movie. 

Samyuktha Menon has signed on as the lead actress. The rest of the cast and crew will be announced soon. 

Last seen in the Tamil film Jagame Thandhiram, Dhanush will soon commence work on the project with Sekhar Kammula. The film, which will go on the floors soon, also stars Sai Pallavi. 

Dhanush, who will be seen in Aanand L Rai’s Atrangi Re, also has the Tamil film Thiruchitambalam in the pipeline. In a video clip that has leaked from the film’s shooting spot recently, Dhanush and Nithya Menen can be seen matching steps for a song sequence. The video had gone viral on social media. 

The movie also stars Raashi Khanna and Priya Bhavani Shankar. The project marks director Mithran Jawahar's fourth collaboration with Dhanush.
