Lot of research, homework went into Mrinalini Sarabhai's character: Rocket Boys actress Regina Cassandra

Starring Jim Sarbh and Ishwak Singh, Rocket Boys is based on the life of scientists Homi Bhaba and Vikram Sarabhai.

Actress Regina Cassandra will be making her Hindi web debut as the legendary danseuse Mrinalini Sarabhai in SonyLIV’s upcoming series Rocket Boys. Based on the life of scientists Homi Bhaba and Vikram Sarabhai, played by Jim Sarbh and Ishwak Singh, respectively, the series has been directed by Abhay Pannu.

To get into the avatar of the dancer, who was an epitome of grace, elegance and creativity, Regina Cassandra has experimented with her looks besides bringing in Sarabhai's poise and sophistication in her appearance.

“As an actor, to get a chance to play such an iconic character on screen for my first Hindi OTT release is like a dream come true," she said. "But there is also a great responsibility when you are portraying somebody who is an iconic figure like her.”

The actress said dancers have a certain body language and it was a challenge for her to get it right. “Mrinaliniji was a very dignified lady who was not prone to any dramatics, no matter what storm she was facing in her private life," she said. "So, it was important to portray her in that form. There was a lot of research and homework that went into it. This is an opportunity of a lifetime and I am thankful for it. My heart is full of gratitude.”

Created by Nikkhil Advani, Roy Kapur Films & Emmay Entertainment and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani, Rocket Boys will be streamed early next year on SonyLIV.
