Dulquer Salmaan's investigative thriller Salute to hit theatres on 14 January

Dulquer Salmaan's most awaited cop drama has finally got a release date. The film will hit theatres on the occasion of Pongal on 14 January 2022.

The actor took to social media to reveal the release date along with a new poster for the film.

Announcing the release date, he wrote, "Another one! Aravind Karunakaran is on a mission! Salute... releasing in theaters worldwide on January 14, 2022." In the new poster, Dulquer can be seen checking a file in a dark police records room.

Directed by Rosshan Andrrews and written by Bobby and Sanjay, the film has Dulquer playing a cop for the first time. This movie also marks the actor's first collaboration with the filmmaker.

Dulquer is playing the role of sub-inspector Aravind Karunakaran, a young cop who is tasked with finding the murderer of a ruthless political leader.

Salute also features Diana Penty, Manoj K Jayan, Saniya Iyappan, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Saikumar and Ganapathi S Poduval.

Meanwhile, Dulquer has also announced the release date for his Tamil film Hey Sinamika which will see him paired with Aditi Rao Hydari.
