Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein teaser: Tahir Raj Bhasin is trapped in an unwanted love triangle

The New Year brings a new twisted love story from creator Sidharth Sengupta who earlier worked on the web-series Apharan (2018) and Undekhi (2020). This time, Tahir Raj Bhasin is trapped in an unwanted love triangle featuring Shweta Tripathi Sharma and Anchal Singh in Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein (2022).

Bhasin plays Vikrant, a simple man who fall for fellow college student Shikha (Sharma), who reciprocates his love. In comes his ‘childhood friend’ Purva (Anchal Singh) who believes herself in love as well and will do anything to get him.

The series synopsis reads: As Purva's ruthless efforts to make him hers begin to destroy all that he holds dear, the mild-mannered Vikrant finds a new side to him emerging. In order to escape Purva’s clutches and reclaim his life with his true love Shikha, he goes down a dark path only to regret it later in this pulpy thriller.

With a nice gender flip, as Anchal Singh is the one chasing down Bhasin, Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein seems promising. The show’s title is taken from the popular song from the cult film Baazigar (1993) which was instrumental in Shah Rukh Khan’s rise to stardom.

Set in the fictional town of Onkara, the psychological drama also features Saurabh Shukla, Surya Sharma, Brijendra Kala, Arunoday Singh, Anant Joshi, Sunita Rajwar and Hetal Gada. Written by director Sengupta, Anahata Menon and Varun Badola, the show will look at themes of love and power mingling in with crime and desire.
