Shava Ni Girdhari Lal trailer: Gippy Grewal plays a buffoonish ladies’ man in this rib-tickling comedy

Punjabi actor-singer-filmmaker Gippy Grewal’s much awaited film Shava Ni Girdhari Lal (2021) sees him playing the innocent lover Girdhari Lal. The romantic comedy also stars Gurpreet Ghuggi, Karamjit Anmol and Rana Ranbir.

Girdhari Lal has a roving eye and there is a slew of actresses in the film like Neeru Bajwa, Himanshi Khurana, Sara Gurpal and Yami Gautam. Directed by Grewal, the film has been written by him with Rana Ranbir.

We see Girdhari Lal being smitten by women of all kinds. A bit of a buffoon, he compliments them, is smitten by them and, oblivious of occasion or location, completely enamoured by them.

Grewal brings out the silliness as well as innocence of the character as he is attracted to one woman after another! The witty dialogues in the trailer produce some hilarious moments.

Cinematographer Baljit Singh Deo captures the village ambience with all its vivid colours and sense of everyday festivity. We see the women dressed glamorously while Girdhari Lal's colourful costumes add to his appeal.

The film’s music is by Jatinder Shah and the title song is a catchy one, originally sung by superstar Punjabi singer Malkit Singh.

Shava Ni Girdhari Lal is set to be released in cinemas on 17 December and will be Grewal’s third release this year, after the romantic comedy Paani Ch Madhaani (2021) and the action film Warning (2021).
