Actor Allu Arjun, who is busy with the promotions of his forthcoming film Pushpa (2021), apologized to the media for arriving two hours late in Bengaluru yesterday.

The Telugu star stood up and sought the forgiveness of the assembled journalists for having kept them waiting.

Arjun was in Bengaluru to promote the Kannada version of Pushpa. The film is directed by Sukumar.

The press meet was scheduled to start at about 11:30 am, but Arjun arrived two hours late as his chartered flight could not take off on time on account of fog.

Explaining the reason for his late arrival to a miffed journalist, Arjun said: “First of all, I’m extremely sorry. We came on a private flight and due to heavy fog it didn’t take off on time. I don’t want to hurt anybody. I didn’t even know the programme got shuffled. I just got to know about it.”

Arjun also added that by apologizing, "one would grow and not come down".

Pushpa is set for release in cinema halls tomorrow. Made in Telugu, the movie has been dubbed for release in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.

In the film, Arjun plays a lorry driver who smuggles red sandalwood. The film also stars Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna. Fahadh plays the antagonist.

Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film has music by Devi Sri Prasad. The film, which is being released in two parts, marks the third collaboration of director Sukumar and Allu Arjun after Arya (2004) and Arya 2 (2009). The project also marks Arjun’s debut in Hindi cinema, though in a dubbed version.

Allu Arjun was previously seen on the big screen in Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo (2020), which marked the third collaboration of the actor with filmmaker Trivikram. That film, which grossed over Rs200 crore during its theatrical run, also starred Pooja Hegde and Nivetha Pethuraj as the leading ladies while Tabu was seen in a pivotal role.
