Veteran actor Sanjay Khapare has been seen in serious, comic and villainous roles over the decades. He will now be seen playing a police officer in the upcoming Marathi movie Story Of Lagira (2022).
The makers have announced that the film will be released in theatres on 14 January 2022.
Along with Khapare, the film stars other senior artistes like Milind Dastane and Prema Kiran. At the same time, it will see young artistes like Roheet Rao Narsinge, who is making his debut as an actor, writer and director, Chaitali Chavan, Hrutuja Shinde, Mohan Jadhav and Somnath Yalnoore.
According to a note from the makers, Story Of Lagira is a mix of a love story and politics. The first poster for the film indicates that the story is set in small-town Maharashtra. It features a couple engaged in talk on one side while a group of college students chitchats on the other.
Khapare also played a police officer in Planet Marathi’s recently-released web-series Anuradha (2021), which features Tejaswini Pandit in the titular role and is directed by Sanjay Jadhav.
Story Of Lagira will be in theatres at the same time as South star Prabhas’s keenly awaited multi-lingual film Radhe Shyam (2022).
