Mahesh Manjrekar announces next Marathi film, Naay Varanbhaat Loncha Kon Naay Koncha

Barely two weeks after the release of Antim: The Final Truth (2021), director Mahesh Manjrekar has announced the release date for his next film, Naay Varanbhaat Loncha Kon Naay Koncha (2022).

Based on the late playwright Jayant Pawar's story, the film will be released on 21 January 2022. The filmmaker took to Twitter to share the release date along with a motion title poster.

From the poster, which also has the tagline '18 varshanvaril prekshakaho, dum asel tarach theatrat yeun baghaicha [Viewers above 18, come to the theatres only if you dare]' it is quite clear that this will be a film for adults only. The poster does not disclose the cast or crew details.

Narendra Hirawat and Shreyans Hirawat's NH Studioz, which has produced and distributed popular Hindi films, has produced the film with Vijay Shinde's 99 Productions.

Naay Varanbhaat Loncha Kon Naay Koncha will clash with the Akshay Kumar-starrer historical epic Prithviraj (2022), which is also slated to be released on 21 January 2022.

Interestingly, another of Manjrekar's films, De Dhakka 2, was scheduled to be released on 1 January 2022. But given this new announcement, it remains to be seen if De Dhakka 2 will be released on that day. There has been no announcement about its postponement either.

Apart from these films, Manjrekar has four more — Panghrun, White, Godse and Swatantraveer Savarkar — in different stages of production.
