Digital buyers have agreed to 75-day theatrical window for RRR, says Jayantilal Gada

Gada, whose company is distributing the film, is confident that RRR would bring in blockbuster revenue for the industry in the post-pandemic period.

Producer Jayantilal Gada of Pen Entertainment has confirmed that SS Rajamouli's epic RRR: Roudram Ranam Rudhiram will see its digital debut only 75 to 90 days after its theatrical release.

The film is set to be released in theatres on 7 January 2022.

Speaking at the film's trailer launch in Mumbai, Gada said, "RRR is such a big film that it will bring back the glory days of cinema. Even the digital buyers have agreed to pick 75–90 days after the theatrical screenings."

Pen Marudhar has taken up the task of distributing the film while DVV Danayya had taken up the production responsibility.

In the post-pandemic period, producers have been agreeing to a bare 30-day interval between the theatrical release and digital release of their films, primarily to offset the impact of back-to-back releases due to a lack of dates.

About his own participation in the project, Gada said, "First of all, it is Rajamouli's film, there was no second thought about it. Now, he has said language is not a barrier, but I had to face quite a bit of it. Danayya sir does not speak Hindi and I don't speak English. We used to speak in numbers."

He added, "Pen Marudhar is doing the distribution and this is the first film which will be seen on every platform. Often, a film that is premiered on Zee will not show on a Star platform. But this film will feature on every channel."

RRR stars N T Rama Rao, Jr, and Ram Charan with Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran and Samuthirakani in important roles. The film is a multi-lingual release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada.
