Prabhas’s previous three releases — the two Baahubali movies and Saaho (2019) — were all actioners. But he will be seen in a different genre in the multi-lingual Radhe Shyam (2022).
Given that the film is a love story, it is but natural for a romantic number to be included. ‘Aashiqui Aa Gayi’ is the song that ticks all the boxes for a love song in a larger-than-life romantic saga.
The song sees Mithoon in three avatars. His poetry as a lyricist is simple and doesn’t boast of heavy words, which goes well with the nature of a massy romantic song. The music, again by Mithoon, is a fine mixture of soft tunes and foot-tapping sounds. Lastly, as a singer he weaves magic with his vocal chords, with some support from Arijit Singh at the end.
The video of the song has some rich and opulent visuals that enhance the romantic number. Prabhas and Hegde share a good chemistry. The song also has flashes of the tense moments the couple goes through in the film.
The major area of concern, however, is Prabhas’s Hindi dialogue delivery, which sounds too awkward, just like in his previous film Saaho.
Directed by Radha Krishna Kumar and produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series and Vamsi-Pramod, Radhe Shyam is scheduled to be released on 14 January 2022. Watch the song below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
