Sonalee Kulkarni is set to work with filmmaker Sanjay Jadhav for the first time for the musical Tamasha Live.
The actress took to social media on Monday to announce the film along with a first title poster.
The poster features Kulkarni's visage in black and white. The monochrome effect is broken by her pink lips.
Tamasha Live's story and screenplay are by Manish Kadam and Jadhav respectively while Arvind Jagtap has written the dialogues. But the USP of the film is its music. The film will have 30 songs, most in any Marathi film. The music will be composed by Amritraj and Pankaj Padghan. Kshitij Patwardhan has written the lyrics.
Terming Tamasha Live a one-of-a-kind project, Jadhav said, "Never before has any Marathi producer or director staged such a huge musical film with over 30 powerful tracks. It is amazing to work with the family at Planet Marathi and my great friend Sonalee Kulkarni. It is a first for Sonalee and me! Hence this film gives me great excitement and pleasure."
The lead actress said that Tamasha Live would redefine Marathi cinema with its grandeur. "The film has the best of the best working on crafting every detail and the audience will certainly see our effort once the film hits the release! Planet Marathi is a powerhouse of Marathi content and I am ecstatic to be a part of their film. A musical film, never witnessed before, is certainly going to blow the minds of our audience," she said.
Tamasha Live is being produced by Planet Marathi and Golden Ratio Films. This is Kulkarni's second film with Planet Marathi after Hakamari.
Speaking about the film Akshay Bardapurkar, founder of Planet Marathi, added, “This film is a union of the best Sonalee and Sanjay are the creative bests in their respective fields. Our experience while working on Anuradha with Sanjay, and Hakamari with Sonalee has been amazing! Tamasha Live brings us the opportunity to work on a mammoth Marathi musical! The audience will definitely like this massive entertainer of a film".
Tamasha Live is scheduled for a Diwali 2022 release.
